Wow.....this looks significantly better than the actual photo. I'll be studying this one for hours as I so want to be able to render metal like this some day. This is just outstandingly phenomenal! It's an encouragement as much as it is a goal and educator. You have no idea how much drawings like this have helped me become a better artist--just by watching and studying. You've got an incredible gift bestowed upon you.

You're the first one that's even noticed a difference between it and the photo lol.
I'm glad you like it and will be looking at it longer than a second, because it sure took
me longer than a second to create hahaha

That's probably because I know what it is that I'm looking for and because I'm such an anal perfectionist; paying attention to detail is just one of the many services I offer.

Indeed. I very much appreciate the work that goes into masterpieces like this as I myself have been working on my current project since September 1st of last year--over 4 months with over a 100 hours on it and it still ain't done. Too focused on trying to perfect something I can't yet all the while adding more and more detail as I go.

So, obviously this is in part graphite but yet also digital. How does that happen? (not a digital artist, MS Paint is all I can do ) As in, how did you do it? -if I may ask...

Wow I would like to see that when it's finished! I understand the mindset of being a perfectionist! and in response to your question, it's actually 100% digital. The parts you think are graphite (her nose and mouth I am guessing... to name a few areas, as well as the shading elsewhere) are just using the dodge and burn tools until it looks exactly the way I wanted it to look, that is the exact right values in the right areas. It's just copying shapes really, you have to think of it that way rather than thinking of it as "I am drawing her mouth" because then you would just draw whatever is in your head and not what is right in front of you, but I'm sure you knew that

Awe, really? Well I'll have to note you when it's done and that I plan will be within the next two days (got a deadline I'm trying to make for the 11th).

Yes.... After posting I came to finally realize it was digital. I'm so old school, that the first thing I think of is graphite (and the likes) when "drawing" is mentioned. I forget many people draw digitally now. But the fact that you were able to render an actual graphite appearance digitally is positively astounding; that's incredibly impressive.

Eh, yes and no. If I've got a reference I'm drawing from specifically, then I'm doing my best to copy it anally and not worry about any preconceived ideas of how I "think" something should look. I'll draw what I see in front of me to the best of my abilities rather than rely on my own preferences. I guess I don't so much see shapes but instead exact lines and that probably is bad thing where the perfectionist thing is concerned.
