My Canon Character illustration for .
This year I was honored with the opportunity to draw one of THE TURTLES.

Thank you so very, very much for voting me in for a canon character spot! You have no idea the cartwheels I turned when I was tapped to draw one of the guys--and not just any guy-- MICHAELANGELO representing MEXICO!

So the deal for all these characters in this fan collaboration was that each character should:
1. Be Hot.
2. Represent a country.

I was told that this year MICHAELANGELO was to be super-sexy and super-Mexy. (As a gal with Mexican roots, I can tell you, it goes without saying that those two attributes are pretty much the same thing. )

Mike didn't have a profile or a reference image per se, but here are the thumbnails from the final project:

I gave a big, long spiel about my costume and designs and the people of Sweden when I posted my character swap with *Raphaelsgirl 's character Shiro . I don't know that I have anything that detailed to offer here.

Given half a chance to wear a giant hat and some multi-color ass-less chaps, Mike'd be in those duds before you could say, "Pizza Party." I added a Mexican wedding shirt like my grandfather used to wear with Mike-Orange stripes instead of something more traditional. The medallion, beyond being Mikey-tacky-big, is supposed to be the coat of arms from the center of the Mexican Flag: a caracara (a bird of prey like a hawk or an eagle) killing a snake upon a cactus.

Did you know... ? (every latin american on dA is rolling their eyes at me right now. sorry!) The central emblem on the flag is from a legend where the Aztec gods told the Aztecs to build their capital city where they spotted an eagle on a cactus eating a serpent. That capital was Tenochtitlan and over time, it has become Mexico City. The image at the center of the modern Mexican flag is the old Aztec pictogram for Tenochtitlan, the center of their empire, now Mexico City.

And I put it on Mike as bling.

In summary: ASS-LESS CHAPS.
