I want to say she and her brother were born kittypets (or one of their parents were), and that's why she's named after a knife.

Dagger is the founder of, well, Dagger's Group, which is a group of cats created shortly after the Clans due to their shared hatred for them. Whether it be because they hated they could no longer live in their old homes because they were owned by the Clans now, or friends and family joined a Clan rather than stayed a rogue with them. The latter of which was Dagger's reason. She and Marsh'heart used to be very close. How could he choose Remorsestar, some she-cat, and her Clan over his own sister, who'd been by his side since day one? Was his bond over his mate really stronger than his bond for Dagger?
