It's all fun and games until someone turns on the waterworks.

i love how you managed to capture a sense of immediacy with a process that is anything but. Well done.

Thank you! I find sugar lift removes enough control to make even an etching pretty lively. It does take a fair amount of follow up to make the thing print right....

huh i've never heard of sugar lift I'll have to look into it!

Sugar lift is sort of an obnoxious process, but it does have its uses. I suppose the same could be said of all printmaking. I mean, relief is simple enough, but then there's getting the inking up just right, and all the blood when you screw up carving...

ohhhh man that sounds painful! I've had the good fortune of not yet attacking myself with carving tools, but our next project is a woodcut so I guess it's not too late...

Just be careful when trying to remove splinters from your block, especially once it's been inked up a bit. I have two tattoos from inked woodblock splinters in my right hand.

It's awesome, the way it is done. And those pixies look mean, I like it. Would not like to be at the bathroom when they invade through the pipes.

Pixie invasions are never pleasant, unless you are pixie. The best thing one can say about an invasion like this is at least someone is having a good time.

I'd love to be one of these pixies. At least the pixies are having a good time, clearly having some world dominition plot (or at least a bathroom/house/neighborhood dominition plot) in mind, or the magician that summoned them.

This drawing was inspired by The Queen of Elfland's Daughter by Lord Dunsany, which features a fantastic fairy invasion. The pixies definitely had the most fun.
