Here's the newest member of the Kyo dynasty, Selene the Panther I actually have been juggling with her design for years, I just never made it official until now =w=

Backstory:

Selene was born into and raised in a magical priestess order thousands of years before Midnight was born. She was trained as a skilled fighter and magic user, like all the priestesses in her order. She and her sisters were tasked with peacekeeping of the land. They met their match at the hands of Proktor, a powerful warlord who sought to conquer all things. As their numbers dwindled, the last remaining sisters used the last of their magic to send Proktor away to the outer edges of the realm. Knowing he would one day return, they cast a spell that granted Selene agelessness, and sent her to find help in discovering a way to defeat their mortal enemy forever.

Now alone, Selene spent the next 6,000 years searching the world for anything that would lead her to a way to destroy Proktor.

In the modern day, she learned that Proktor had returned, and had amassed a new army. Even worse, he was looking for a way to travel across dimensions to conquer new worlds. Selene knew about an ancient device that could open such a portal, if given a very rare power source. She could not allow Proktor to use it, so Selene hired a local sleuth named Blink to investigate whether Proktor had found the device yet and if he was able to use it (See Blink the Ferret's backstory).

While waiting for the results of the investigation, She searched for signs of Proktor's influence. It didn't take long for her to spot a small gang of Proktor's minions, racing for New Prospect City, a crowded major city in the local area. Wondering what they could be after, Selene followed.

She found the minions attacking a citizen. She stepped forward to take action, but was surprised to see how well this individual- a young black hedgehog- could hold his own against the attack. Skilled as he was, he wasn't prepared for a second wave of minions that were advancing to his position quickly. As the monsters leaped at the hedgehog, a 6,000 year old fighter Selene put herself between the hedgehog and the onslaught, dispatching them in a matter of moments.

It was here that Selene met Midnight, a hedgehog who possessed the unheard of ability to freely jump across planes of existence. It was this reason why Proktor wanted him. Knowing the importance of the situation, Midnight and Selene teamed together to rid their world of Proktor's minions, and find a way to destroy the warlord. As they went on their adventure, Midnight took Selene to many strange, wonderful and beautiful worlds, where she saw things she never dreamed of. As they trained together, fought together and shared more and more memories, the two eventually fostered a relationship that went beyond friendship.

After learning of Prokor's long-guarded weakness, Mid and Selene traveled back to the Piloral Plane to confront the tyrant. Back in the city however, Mid accidentally ran into an old sweetheart of his. Her playful flirting threw Selene into a jealous anger, and she fled the city. Distorted by her feelings, Selene was captured by Prokor's minions under Midnight's nose.

After learning of Selene's kidnapping, Midnight bolted to Prokor's stronghold in a rage, tearing the place apart in the process. Arriving at the citadel, Midnight found that Selene was used as bait to lure him there. Preparations had been complete, and Proktor was ready with a machine to extract Midnight's Rift ability.

In a desperate bargain for Selene's life, Midnight agreed to trade his power for Selene's safety. In a triumphant roar, Proktor swiftly bound Midnight to the machine and began the extraction. With the transaction successful, Proktor attempted to open the way for the first world he would crush. Weakened and distraught, Midnight was helpless to stop him.

But Proktor was too hasty in his plans, and was unprepared to use his new power. the Rift he had opened became unstable, and crumbled. In a tremendous blast, the Rift tore into a massive hole. Meanwhile, the fabric of existence in the Piloral Plane had collapsed, and Midnight's world was falling apart before his eyes.

In a final effort to divert the catastrophe, Selene broke free of her bonds and used the last of her ancient magic to give Midnight and herself great power. They knew if they could destroy Proktor, the Rift would return to Midnight. But they had to hurry.
The battle was immense. The ferocity of each strike shook the citadel to its foundations. With the two heroes fighting as one, victory seemed to be within grasp.

Until Proktor took advantage of Selene's fierce loyalty to Mid, continuously striking him. As Proktor delivered the fatal blow with his ancient sword, Selene brought herself between the two. Pierced by Proktor's blade, she crumpled to the ground. Engulfed in sorrow and rage, Midnight harnessed the last of his energy to annihilate his foe. He beat Proktor down with an animalistic ferocity, finally striking down his life force with a blast from his Lunar Bolt. Defeated, Proktor exploded in a magical blast, delivering Midnight's Rift ability to him once more.

But it was too late. The Rift was too badly damaged, and the collapse could not be stopped. Not knowing what to do, he held Selene in his arms as she comforted him. She reassured him that she was finally at peace after these thousands of years, and could rest easily if she knew Midnight was safe. Mid begged to let him take her with him to another world. They could live in peace together somewhere beautiful, with sunlight reaching the ends of the horizon. But both of them knew Mid only had enough power left to travel alone.

Sharing a last embrace and kiss goodbye as the world crumbled around them, Selene shoved Midnight through the portal as the last remnants of the Piloral Plane dissipated. Her eyes never left Midnight's as the world forever went dark.

Personality: After living for over 6,000 years, Selene became quite discontented with day-to day life. Few things brought her much joy, and she decided to keep her focus solely on her mission to save the realm. As such, it was difficult for her to open up to others and let loose and have fun again. Her ancient age gave her access to vast memories, so she would often daydream and wander off in thought. As strict as the matrons who trained her, she would not tolerate mistakes or carelessness.

Weaknesses: Although ageless, she could be killed in battle (and was eventually slain by Proktor)

-Selene's spear, Fyord, is sentient and talks only to her. They had many conversations together and he kept her company during her old age.
-The Piloral Plane- Selene's home word- is a dimension where nighttime never ends. Sunlight does not exist and Selene was shocked to see it for the first time thanks to Midnight.
