Seriously, this idea of doing Zutara in the story of Mulan has been something that's buzzing around in my head for a while now...so when Crossover was decided as one of the prompts, I had a little squee-gasm.

I've been wanting to do an entire comic of it, but you know how I am with updating...I'd never get it done. DX But I decided on this part cause...I don't know. There were a ton of things and ideas I had for a Mulan/Zutara story...But I think this one works...

Anywhooo, for Mulan-verse Zutara I figured it as the protagonist nation(China) is not really Fire nation or Earth or water, but it's all one nation, but there are still different benders within it.

And to keep with the theme of a girl impersonating a male soldier, I took the theme from the Northern Water Tribe where the ladies are not allowed to bend except for healing purposes.

But in order to save her father from having to go to war again and to achieve honor for her family that she couldn't get through normal means, Katara leaves home to take his place as his supposed water-bending son.

As for Shang!Zuko, I wasn't sure if I should include his scar, so I convienently made that side of his face not visible. You can decide for yourself if Shang!Zuko has a scar or not, though I might do more with this idea a little later since it's eating my brain.

Other notes on characters:
Aang: Chin Po (the big, peaceful guy who likes to eat XD)
Sokka: Ling (comic relief all around--also, he is not Katara's brother)
Jet: Yao (I wanted this to be Toph initially, but that wouldn't fit in with the whole "no girls allowed" theme. He's prideful enough, though!)

Iroh: Shang's Father(I forget his name.)
Zhao: Chi Fu (LOL)
Hakoda: Fa Zhu(sp?)
Kana: Mulan's crazy grandmother

Ozai: Shan Yu
Gyatso: The Emporer

Guest starring Hawky as Shan Yu's bird.

Oh, and Katara's alias? LI, of course!

So, that's Crossover, it's kind of late since I had problems with PoS again, but, it turned out pretty well. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do for Blood, but I'd better figure it out. D:

And I did use a referrence from the movie. I never noticed how adorably freaked out Mulan is when Shang grabs her by the shirt. XD Her face is priceless.
