Description Title:
Jakobs Ladder

Comment:
This is an apartment building in Cardiff Bay. I used a 45 second day time exposure for this shot. Taken at a focal length of 10mm, ISO:100 @ f:20. This type of photography is a style that I love and can't wait to get out there and and take more.

I've been so inspired by `bosniak 's work even more so since having an Architectural Photography theme this month

give credit to the ugliness of budget architecture!
because for most of us, those are home.

Jakob's Ladder indeed!
I love the technique you used here.. it created a truly wonderful effect. It's brooding and ominous.. and i love that.

Dude.. you're so rocking the architecture thing!

Thanks Katie

It's something I've wanted to do for a while now. Concentrating on Architectural Photography this month has given me the kick in the pants to get out there. It's hard for me to be in the right place at the right time due to me working full time in an office and this type of work needs you to be flexible when the weather is right.

I love it... how does the thingy with the sky works? o_O photography noob here...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

l8 In reply to skilla242 [2009-11-20 21:48:17 +0000 UTC]

In basic terms, you attach to your lens a high factor Neural Density Filter to cut down the amount of light hitting the cameras sensor/film. Therefore the time the shutter needs to be open is usually in tens of seconds. Fast moving clouds then will look blurred.
Hope that helps

Oh yeah cool. I didn't know that you can edit the shutter speed like this good to know
