Description I figured, if I want to learn how to swim, if I jump right off the boat I'll drown. So I'm taking baby steps into the world of legit digital painting. I tried new shading/highlighting techniques with different brushes to get a more painterly effect than my usual stuff. I also tried to make a background. ... lol.

I recently sold my 9 Pound Coconut on Neopets and with that money bought a Yellow Krawk Morphing Potion. I plan on morphing Quoxwood (whose gender will have to change to male) and she will then become Mr. Jackson "J" Quoxwood! KRAWKODILE DUNDEE.

I've been trying to think of a new character for Quoxwood for a while, and went from failed fat model (a.k.a. Will Ferril in every movie ever) to Ghost Hunter/Medium... then I was watching Animal Planet and thought about how much I missed good old Steve Irwin. And it hit me! ...It also just hit me that I forgot his hat, whoops. Oh well. He's got one of those Dundee hats. I guess it fell off when he was swinging on that vine?

Critiques appreciated!

wow, that character sounds super awesome! 8)
I love your ideas

as for the pictures itself, I think you pulled off the painterly look quite nicely. I really like the warm colors you used, too.
I wish I could give you a critique, but you know; I'm new to that technique too |D

I know it's a krawk but it reminds me of the orange digimon in the front of this:

Oh nice! I love his face.

If you're looking to improve your shading, check out this helpful little tutorial: [link]

As for critiques, the pants look a little dull and bland. There's not much contrast on them, as if it's all one solid color with a little bit darkishness here and there. The background is also kind of boring. There could probably be a bit more detail in it, but not too much as to make you focus on that instead of the krawk. The border adds a nice touch, though. And the highlights on the skin make him look almost 3D! He kind of glows, too. Makes him really pop.

But this is lovely, as always. ♥ I always look forward to seeing your art.

This is so awesome you have no idea djsgfslkgfj

QUOX IS GUNNA' BE so dang snazzy.
He and my krawk Reitocis should go on wild-nature frolicking adventures.

I love the pose here, and that expression is great <3
Uuuuh critique wise, I think my main suggestion would be to really push the shading/lighting? Since it looks a bit like the sun is setting here, I think the shadows would be a lot more prominent. Otherwise though, this is an awesome step towards digital painting~! c:

....Also I love his feet just fyi.
