Zutara Week - Day 1: FirefliesPage 1
When coloring this, I made myself follow only 1 rule: Only color it in the primary colors- red, yellow, and blue.
For this one, the colors themselves are lightly desaturated to make it 'softer', with an overlay of lightly transparent blue-to give it a night scene. This is why zuko's clothes look slightly...pink. when I tried to make him have more of a darker red, he blended in with the background too much.
All that would have stood out for him would be his pale white face....X3

It was a pain referencing proper fire nation royalty clothes. It's actually really hard to find a full head-to-toe garb of zuko's that is not his "traveling/dress down outfit" or "overly ceremonial/war outfit". I needed one that showed his status as Fire Lord without all the bulky junk.
I got lucky with katara's. ^.^
