Trying to clean out what I will submit and what I won't and posting it before smash brothers comes out, because chances are I will end up drawing a lot of smash art XDANYWAYS
Drew this months ago. It was SAI practice! Don't really know what to say other than that? Just a simple chibi attempt. Yes I gave him a lot of colors...DEAL WITH IT.
Not so fond of all black character designs.
Lines could have been better, like around the hands for example :/

I assume you're happy that a couple of Pittoo's alternate costumes in SSB4 give him dark purple hair?

eeeh, the only one I really like is the white outfit for him. I do like the olive skin tone he has for one of the swaps. Kind of fitting for a Greek base warrior.
The rest of his palette swaps are too subtle to notice unless you are playing close together. they kind of melt to the same I guess

The white outfit? Ha ha, I call him "Hypocrite Pittoo" for some reason. Now I want to see Hypocrite Pittoo meet up with Pit in his black outfit.
You referring to the red outfit that gives him tanned skin? I didn't know that it would match Greek-based characters.
At least they're easier to notice that Pac-Man's.

I duno, Pittoo really never objected to what he was. He came to terms with it shortly after his creation in the boss fight in chapter 6, just admitting he was a copy of Pit.
Pit on the other hand XD objecting up and down saying he was nothing like that, could never be like that, and Pittoo was not a reflection of him, goes off and has the black clothing alt before you can even unlock Pittoo~
so who's the real hypocrite there?
to be fair though, Pit had that outfit WAY before Pittoo existed...
Maybe Pittoo just has that color outfit because he knows that he is just Pit, and knows having it would REALLY get under Pit's skin and tick him off.
I've been thinking about drawing the two in their black and white palette swaps for awhile actually! I've just had not time what with commission work. Maybe soon I will!
mostly just the olive skin tone matched the Greek skin type better than the pale skinned version of the characters we got. I guess if they did make them more tanned though, they wouldn't have 'appealed' as much to audiences as they do now.

I'm still drawing Kid Icarus religiously even though I haven't played or been remotely interested in the game for months, and at this point I wonder if I've forgotten how to draw anything else

Well regardless of the results, it's still just me experimenting on a new program with new coloring methods! This and the Darkness bow picture were the two I felt were a little acceptable, while another style I tried on didn't exactly have the same results. So yeah trial and error are still going on! Just DA doesn't get to see that, just things I think are good enough for the gallery.
I'm very glad though you like these results.
If you only know how much KI I've really drawn....
I draw what makes me happy when I get free time, so I don't think I'll get tired of that XD

You're lucky that you actually get attention for things you put effort into. The only reason why everything I upload is poorly-drawn is because my poorly-drawn things are so insanely popular and I have no clue why (that and I just don't have the time for anything else).

Well, I'm just lucky enough to know enough people on DA by now, and constantly have a flow of activity weekly to get attention. that seems to be the 'make or break' on these kinds of things. Networking and who you know. I actually used to get a lot more attention before I started backing off DA because of trolling. I've been getting better art wise, but because I spend less time being social here, I'm not getting the attention I was about a year or two ago.
and the whole quicker stuff getting more attention than the stuff we put effort into is something at plagues anyone who ever did anything and posted it online... Let me introduce you to Pitato...

I was much more popular on dA too once upon a time. It was back when I drew nothing but Mario fanart. And pretty soon all my friends had left, and my watchers had stopped paying attention to me because I stopped drawing Mario. :I
It's a good thing that there are at least a few people like you who appreciate Kid Icarus. It still gets lonely though.
I've had a Tumblr page for a while now (there's nothing on it), and I was planning to give it a grand opening with a whole bunch of comics really soon, and I had even informed my friends about it... just in time for my laptop to die off for real. So now I have to get a new one.
I swear my laptop enjoys my suffering or something, it just chooses to stop working at the worst possible times

Back then I drew pretty much one of 3 things. Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus and Dragon Quest. The Zelda fandom got me a lot of attention, but people there got crazy so I backed away slowly and got into the MOTHER series, in which people are still crazy and now I kind of just hide under a rock, slowly pushing art I draw out as I am protected by my safety rock.

XD I guess people just want to laugh and 'daww' at things in their fandom than admire something that took hours and hours of work! I know I am guilty of it too, I mean...I am the one who keeps making this dumb stuff.

Fandoms ARE crazy! That's why I can ignore them easily, because the internet has evolved the term "fandom" into something I would hardly consider myself part of. I'd rather talk about my favorite video games with my friends than a huge community of wackos any day. My job isn't to interact with them anyway. My job is to show them my art, and then they can react however they want about it. Otherwise I wouldn't be putting it on the internet in the first place, and more importantly if I were afraid of fandoms I'd be staying the fuck away from Tumblr. ._.
I mean, the fact that it's Kid Icarus doesn't matter as long as I get it. I laughed at it because it was clever and I love dumb stuff. XD
I do like to admire stuff that had a lot of effort put into them as well. I have a whole folder in my favorites dedicated to that.

If there's anything I know about tumblr, it's that if you have an opinion, someone somewhere will hate you.
I strictly believe in understanding both sides of an argument even if I favor one side. Either everyone will hate me or nobody will. It's risky logic.
Fortunately, as a result of that I'm just really good at not caring. I will go into tumblr with armor. I will watch as my amazing inability to give a shit about anything leaves the anons dumbfounded.

tumblr can be a great place, it's just really REALLY hard to deal with everyone's trash.
This stuff kind of always bothers me, it changes what I post online and finish so yeah, I am not very thick skinned at all. I don't want to offend anyone, so as riduculous as someone gets about something, I always end up backing down and avoiding confrontation.

Learning a new program is hard. I just got clip studio paint and it's so great... but it just isn't what i'm used to so i ... it's gonna take a while.

actually the thing i like so much about clip studio is how very like photoshop it is. but I keep wanting to change a setting and realizing that the similarities are superficial, below the surface it has a totally different structure that i'm not used to navigating.
Not that photoshop doesn't too but i've been slowly learning its ways for years. and i STILL learn new things.. like that the 'turn shit into chrome' is found in the layer menu
