Description The fog of insecurity that blocks my vision as of late, I sometimes have a hard time liking my own art, as most artists do... but my art professor continuously feeds this little monster of mine, why do some people have no respect for art unless its a large oil painting!? I refuse to give in, but it still hurts a bit

sorry for the vent, you guys are awesome

oil, acrylic, graphite on paper

Original is sold

On a journey into the nether regions of my mind to find clarity and healing from things locked deep within, this feels somewhat like you have been inside my own head

Not everyone can do an amazing job with the tools of a child, such as pencils, and what you do is not work of a child
Art is not only oil paintings or things like that, is an expression, or that's what all the "artists" make fun, another thing is to see how your teacher would prefer that style, different from yours, and as this fashion now, as digital painting, created a preference as to what "cool" or "wonderful"
As your picture the fog of uncertainty comes from our own mouth, is an excellent design, look, detail, lips, I love it. the make up run, I wonder if you felt that way when you draw it.

The only thing I do not understand what are the small circles with a red dot in the middle?

Wow I would say if you have sold the original, the teacher may be wrong. Money talks, bullshit walks. Plus ya know, teachers teach, artists do. And I think you are doing great.

wow great concept & well done for the visualization...
I love it...
I think that people who only respect for art if it's a large oil painting is not completely understand what art truly is....so be proud of the talent you have :

Thanks so much

I really try to find the balance between loving what I create and hating it, I don't want to hate it, but I don't want to reach the point where I become fine with the level I'm at and don't try to push or challenge myself either. ya know? but the support on DA has really helped me to feel comfortable in my artistic skin, so thank you so much for your kind words

I totally agree! Sadly many are stuck in the art world of the 70-90s which isn't as relevant any more. Thanks so much for your kind support though
