I don't get it. Back in the 1980's when i moved to Puerto Rico nutella was something normal in Puerto Rico but in the late 90's early 2000 it dissapered. Now here in the U.S. is like something new. I was surprised and amazed when i saw nutella in the supermarket shelf that i almost had a premature ejaculation right there in that moment.

I'm seriously having a hard time finding what's so popular about this photo. The position of the jar is fine, but there's nothing really all that visually interesting. It's a knife on top of the jar, covered in nutella.
The price label just makes it look tacky.
Really, I just don't see it.

It's abstract. It has a higher meaning which we tend to be unable to grasp and ultimately fail to do so. Yet we conform to the norm that is a facade of knowing. We think it's special because even though we have no clue what it's about, we know that somewhere, within the chocolaty goodness lies a really mind-blowing message. Why do you think people liked Inception?

I think people liked "Inception" because it was a slightly more stimulating action movie than the usual mediocrity, while also being directed by Christopher Nolan.
"Inception" was not clever, nor was it complicated. It was actually pretty straight forward in its plot and writing.
Heck, I could take a picture of toast, adjust the picture with filters, and have commentators interpret it as having a deeper meaning, when it really doesn't have one.
This is a picture of a jar of chocolate with slightly distracting and unnecessary blur, brighten, and bloom filters applied to it.
It's pretty straight forward and isn't interesting in the least. The camera angle is simple, the lighting is simple.
That's it.
Again, don't see why it's so popular.

To intelligent people, yes. Inception was a simplistic plot. You're not taking into account that more or less 2/3 of the world's population is unintelligent. Every single one of my friends thought it was a great movie. I fell asleep in between, woke up later and still knew what was happening...
People like abstract abstract art because liking it gives them an air of higher knowledge. That said, there is something extremely alluring about that nutella...*drolls*

It's popular because most of Deviantart is filled with idiots? That was actually my first theory to be honest. I also wouldn't call "Inception" boring, just incredibly overblown, overrated, and taking itself too seriously at times in the film. Still a good film, not a great film.

It's hype about a movie that really takes the pleasure of watching it...Avatar and Inception were let downs because of this, imo.
