Something similar happened to me once. I'm told that my eyes bulged out of their sockets at the time. In my case, it was because my mother forgot to remove them from the food before she served it, and I was stupid enough to eat the pepper without asking what it was.
I know of two surefire remedies for pepper breath; bananas and milk; when you swallow them, they coat the esophagus in a layer of fat, which soothes the burning sensation.

I don't much like peppers. I had a green one once and taht was hot. I heard milk is the best way to cool your throught and mouth water makes it worse.
