I've never seen anyone combine an industrial look with nature. You've created a new category! Industrial-nature.

Haha, thanks (I think?). I don't remember which preset this was, but I liked the outcome. Not quite black and white.

I think I would like the composition better if more was cropped off of the top left hand corner. Also, I feel like this would have a greater impact if the focus was further down the wings so that you could see the brighter part of the wing.

Hmmmm agreed. I need a photographic assistant who can help me cheat by holding flowers still, stop them blowing about. Darn windy shots lol... you have no idea how many photos I took to get one that even had the moth in focus! I did want to try and get more of the wing in focus, though, so interesting you mentioned that in feedback.

I deliberated ages over the composition, moving it around here and there. I'll see what it looks like cropped like you suggest.

Thanks.

You could always try carrying some coreflute (?) the stuff that real estate signs are made out of and set it up as a wind block, and I have had to hold many a flower that is blowing about... lol

Hmmm good idea. I have a piece of white coreflute that I use when doing outdoor portrait shots... that might do next time. And I don't recall why, but I didn't have a hand free to hold the flower myself...
