All right, here's a good piece of work. His shadows might still be a little off, but I like his creamy skin tone.Other than blocking in, I only used two brushes, both custom. One is kind like a pencil in the way it works, and the other is similar, but with blurrier edges for doing skin.
He is an exiled Outsider prince. For those who don't play DnD, Outsiders are being from other planes. He's neither angel nor demon, just some type of celestial being banished from his plane of existence. As you can tell by the chain, he hasn't exactly found a warm welcome on the physical plane.
All told, this took 10-15 hours to do. I am so in love with my Intuos, just to remind people. I'm dying for a Cintiq, even though I just got this.

Again, a much more painterly approach to your work. Who or what have you been studying? I think you have reached a stylistic change in application. Nice shading and relaxed pose.

I spent a little time on Concept Art, and had someone demonstrate an easy way to blend. And then I spent two months not doing anything, because I was frustrated and depressed. Then I spent a night trying to replicate a face from Feimo's work, and something kind of clicked.
Wait til you see the one I'm doing right now.

Ahh, good so it is something new you have learned and are going to share? Heh, today I was working on a little thing I have piddled around with for quite some time....I was doing some pretty cool things and was proud of it. When it came time to close down.....I didn't save it!!!

*sighs* Not saving. So painful. I actually had Photoshop lock up while I was doing Smile, and i thought I'd lost a lot more work than I had. It only put me back a half hour or so. But it's so damn frustrating to have that happen. There's absolutely no reason for Photoshop to lock up, not with the system I have.
I might share what I've learned. I think I'll need to do it at least once more before I feel confident in my abilities with it.
