Description The Second Doctor's companions, done on watercolor art cards. Tried to do them in different ways and media to break up monotony since they were all to be on a a zine cover together with some art from several other people. I'd hoped that some variety in my images would make it look less like I'd contributed so many and fit in a bit better. Not as successful as I wanted, but they're still my beloved 60's Who kids.

Polly, Ben, Jamie, Victoria, Zoe.

Ben and Polly were done in marker and ink. Jamie and Victoria in just watercolor with a few touches of ink, and Zoe with some simple watercolor washes and ink lines.

It's good to see all of the Troughton companions together. Cool drawing. I just wish the BBC didn't destroy all of the 60s/early 70s episodes.

Love this! The second Doctor had such a lovely set of companions, though I think for me Jamie and Zoe were the ultimate Team Tardis from that era really like the way you've presented them here too, like a filmstrip- maybe the Tardis has a photobooth hidden away in some long-forgotten dusty corner?

I also like this for the inclusion of all of them. Ben, Polly and Zoe are so often overlooked, but they were as important to the stories they appeared in as Jamie and Victoria.

I actually enjoyed the Classic Who era, when the Doctor had more than just one or two companions during their tenure. Yeah, you got attached to them, and it hurt just as much when they had to go, but it was also a symbol that, as much as we wanted, things didn't stay fixed for the Doctor like they did for the rest of us.

Except for Jamie, of course (yes, I am a believer in Season 6B)

Wow, excellent likenesses! It's not just the resemblances you nailed, but a sense of the personality of each one.

Especially Jamie, he fairly oozes a sense of incipient hijinks. Or maybe it's that he's the one I've seen most of. I could make guesses at the others, though.

Aww, thank you!

Drawings of Jamie fall out of my paintbrush now with the slightest shake of the thing. He's become kind of sketchbook epidemic. I know I need to dial back the amount of Jamie I'm drawing, but he's so completely adorable it's really difficult.

It's okay, he's so adorable I also don't think anybody minds. Who can say no to a charming Scotsman?

Jamie looks so dashing! One of my favorite companions ever. You did a great job on all of these, I love your use of watercolors.

<3 Jamie and Zoe.
1. Jamie is Scottish and wears his kilt EVERYWHERE
2. Zoe is almost as smart as Two, and doesn't seem to be as much of a wet blanket as other companions have been.

THIS INTERESTS ME.

Really, though, it does. What is particularly attractive to you about these ones? They didn't feel like a supremely different experience to me, so I'm curious.

I dunno. I think it's the sheer completeness of them? Like, all of Two's companions done up in lovely portraits? It's so nice. I could see these all neatly framed on a wall or something? They're all really well done, of course. I am especially in love with Jamie and Victoria's. Ben and Polly are so often excluded from Troughton things for whatever reason, as if only Jamie, Zoe and Victoria were the important companions. So whenever I see them, especially included with Troughton, it makes me giddy. Seeing them all just somehow brings back all my fuzzy love for everyone of them. Jamie's my favorite companion of all time definitely, but Troughton's whole era has my favorite cast over all, too. I love Victoria, and I love Ben and Polly. And of course Zoe. So. I dunno.
