Description
"The heart is what counts, after all" is what X said to Zero in MMZ3. We later find out that Zero's body is only a copy, and that his original body is inside Omega. While facing Omega in his ultimate for, Zero probably thought about what X had said more than once.

This was originally an artwork of the game that I found, but its quality was really poor, so I decided to re-create it. After finishing Omega and Zero (which was a pain to do without a tablet), I decided that their blades looked way too plain if done normally, so I decided to use that effect to make them look more like energy blades (which they are). After that I looked for pictures to make the background, and in the end I used two: one for the ground they are standing and another one for the sea and sky.

I'm actually happy about how it turned out. I don't think I've ever spent so much time on something like this before.

Lineart: 1-2 hours
Coloring: about 3 hours
Background and finishing touches: 30 min-1 hour
