Amazing...I loved your overview on inking. I'm still having troubles with pen pressure...but I'll get it eventually. Awesome work and keep it up! ^___^

I get my "special" materials - like the brush pen - in bookshop sales and super-hidden shops downtown, so uh. BY CHANCE!
And it takes me around... three to four hours on average, from penciling to inking, for an 8x10 in paper size. Corpus - my current featured deviation - took me 26 hours, more or less, if I recall correctly, from start to finish. 8DDD
It's why I avoid hella HUGE pieces of paper.

Aha XDDDD AND THANKS.
Yes they are, especially boards, because their paper is rougher than most and ruins nibs easily.

[He looks at his own inking. A big blob on a white sheet.]
Holy Sheet! [haha, have some laugh, that was a joke >_<]
That's why I keep far away from inks.

Ahaha yes! That's how I learned some of my stuff, too - seeing people work, or just asking them what they do differently from other people. It's very insightful.

you use expensive pens... >_>
D8 That's a bummer.
Nice yet complicated technique. Well, it's all in the talent, as they say.

They're not expensive; considering the quality, they're very cheap. I'd rather invest in two Uni pens than buy a box of My Gel pens. My Gel pens tend to bleed and its ink isn't compatible with most good papers I use, and it takes so long to dry and it smudges when you erase over it.
I avoid that pen so so much.

lambchild In reply to ForbiddenImmortality [2007-11-17 05:53:53 +0000 UTC]
Uh, not really? I usually warm up my hand by sketching on a separate piece of paper to get rid of muscle kinks, and I usually ink right after I draw in pencil.
