hmmm, interesting. nice colors! it almost looks alive like 3-D in 2-D, especially the fish woman. i like the painterly feel and the simplicity of the background with the foreground. it feels very "zen". something that I would recommend that might help a bit more with your painting is to define her more by putting more retouch especially on her skin and fins/wings so that she doesn't look too much like the plants. the face is excellent but just try to do some more work on the rest of the body. your almost there. just hang in there painting, okay?

This is amazingly cool.
I especially adore the wispy quality of the colour and this sense of transparency, making the figure seem to float even in my 2D screen, hovering and ethereal. It also gives a sense of other-worldly light to the whole thing making it, for me at least, really eye-catching and brilliant for me to run my eyes over.
The sense of movement from the figure, as if she has just materialized from the bowels of the plant is also wonderful. It really give that sense of magic I think you were searching for when creating this. It looks real in a surreal way.
