Description Waves, Sunday October 25th, 2007 - the day the 2007 Firestorm Started in San Diego.

48 hours later this beach, and its campsites were evacuated. The fire got within a Mile of it, actually hopping the Interstate 5 near Del Mar (This beach is slightly north of Del Mar, San Diego and is on the Marine Base: Camp Pendleton.

A sign just north of this beach - [link]

The waves this day were upwards of 8-10 feet on the front (4-5 foot waves) and the wind blew against them so hard (later in the day) that they turned into walls of water that refused to fall. the sand felt like needles against your legs (being blowing at 45-65mph) and when we left the beach large plumbs of smoke were already bellowing over the 5 interstate.

you need to work on the photo in either photoshop or even a basic effects program. Its to flat, a great shot but its nothing to stand out from any other beach photo. Great story behind it, just give us the image that you are capable of producing

Why would I want it to stand out? It's just a picture of a wave. The wave before the storm. It looks so peaceful, isn't that the point?

The image looks flat, get some contrast.

you can already see the smoke in the distance of course its flat, it's before the storm, not during the storm

right click, view image, you can copy/paste from there. this is the biggest photo I can get right now, lost the original (larger) size some time ago, I'm pretty sure it's still on my old computer but that thing is a beast to turn on and transfer files from.

I was considering screwing around in photoshop just to make you happy, bring out the smoke more (or add an image of smoke) cause it's very faint at the moment (could be mistaken as haze) and making the contrast better.

But yeah, I don't have the original right now... maybe I'll go hard drive digging later. This picture is actually a copy from my facebook profile (thus why it's so small)
