Description The g in Lyngen is softened roughly into y from the English "yes".
The name of the mountain range is pronounced roughly as "lynn-yen".

This time these shores were still green with fresh grass, complementing what already felt so idyllic and pastoral the last time. And the mountains.... when I saw them once again up closer, a tide of sweet memories washed over me. The first trip to Lyngen was one of the most memorable days in my life, and now I came back to see these epic mountains once more, but this time in broad daylight. I remembered the fantastic feeling once again: how incredible, how amazing it was to be there. It always was, it always will be.

I miss you, Lyngsfjella, I miss you so much.

View from the Lyngen coast of Ullsfjorden around Bensnes, southeast towards The Lyngen Alps.

The fjord here is the beginning of Kjosen (a.k.a. Isfjord) as it joins into Ullsfjorden.
The epic mountains on the horizon are of the southern part of the Lyngen Alps.
The lower mountains in the front straight ahead are the foothills of Durmålsfjellet.
The dark lower part on the right is Moskofjellet with the small peak Kjerkefjellet (560 m).
The slightly higher part is Durmålsaksla, the protruding dark peak on it is Humpen (about 740 m).
Behind it is Durmålsfjellet itself, with its frontal peak Litle Durmålstinden (1 132 m).
On the left of Durmålsfjellet and its foothills, the great conic mountain is Fornesfjellet.
Its two major peaks: the triangular Litle Fornestinden (1 050 m) and Store Fornestinden (1 477 m).
Behind and between Durmålsfjellet and Fornesfjellet we see Storfjellet.
The peak in the front is Stortinden (1 473 m) and the one behind is Tigertinden (1 492 m).
To the left of Fornesfjellet, partially obscured in the mist, are the Forholtfjellet mountains.
The sharp peak right behind Fornesfjellet is namely the peak Forholtfjellet (1 467 m).
The further left and in the mist is Forholttinden (1 469 m).

06.10.2018, The Lyngen Alps.
