Once my footsteps echoed in light
Found all the right and sang the night
Melody's were made from soul to write
And even to page the songs of sight
The shadow of wrong cloaking the day
Blocking out sight and still to all pay
Another atrocity about to unfold
Beauty extinct by stupidity's cold
Lifeless scape and emptiness there
Absent and empty the grace of the air
A horror of hallow that perceived a night
Where spirits could soar as the eternal pure light
Flying and full the chasms of dreams
Turning true nightmares into the stories of beams
Towers and pillars of castles in light
Crumbling rubble by bubbling blight
A vortex of vanity absent design
Coalesced by chaos and consciousness shine
A diagram of dear against wrought fear
A softest sure strong with a torrent of tear
The splashes of crashing and breaking on stones
From deeper trails than the core of our bones
Sending to sight and beyond horizon's line
Further than always and beyond of a time
Once in the shadow of empty endless scape
Hate and hell had the fear to create
The endless expanse so absent romance
No beauty could be, no starlight to dance
The coffin of cold and forgotten a cell
The glamor and grace, an empty fell well
A door of a dream in closing to tell
The egg born empty, alone is the shell
Shifting the cape to flutter no more
Losing the austere born of the roar
A feather gone wild, gone to before
A time of true loss by all to the fore
The wind that has ceased by light's absent place
A piece of a portrait missing a face
A silence in song that shatters the score
Leaving a hole, and forever wants more
Starving to hold more, a piece to the pall
A more to bury the hole within the full fall
Another facet to fix, another road to travail
Another sea to swim, another mountain to sail
Wonder and whimsy will question to dare
