The Eros Class Destroyer was designed with the aid of the Intersystem Alliance as a first pure combat ship the Systems federation would produce. The ship was designed for the purpose of being used both as a border patrol ship and on the front lines of the lance. For that reason she is armed with a formidable broadside missile attack for her size and a number of mid ranged guns.

When not in a combat situation the guns are hidden in the hull for maintenance and repair, and are deployed if needed in a combat situation. A unique feature of the Eros class is that the missile launchers are deployed in packs of five and each launcher can be removed and replaces without vast amounts of cutting and removal of armour plates, this greatly speeds up the process if need be. In addition when in combat armour is deployed over the windows on the ship and bulkheads are sealed in case of a hull breach.

The Eros is also equipped with conter missile salvo in place of a larger axiel mass driver, with the reduced mass from the gun, the destroyer is faster and can carry a larger missile broadside. This also allows space for larger drop bays for troops and supplies for planetary invasion.
