Description This time I felt like drawing nature again, and also i owed this to my mom for a while.... i guess i can consider it a early B day present for her. she seems to be quite happy with it and cant wait to frame it! ^_^

I must say i realy enjoyed sketching it and then shading it. it took about a day to compleet. 4 hours to sketch it, the rest of the day to shade of coures this was with breaks imbetween. Anyways i started with the bird or finch on top and worked my way down drawing the upper rose then to the midde to the oposite side eventually finishing the other flower and the bird. the original lines i used a regular #2 pencil, then i went back and used Derwent Grafic pencils to shade. The Degrees used: F, B,& 6B.

I dont draw nature too often so when i do i realy get into it. I used to draw animals all the time as a kid but lately ive been so focused on trying to draw mecha lately that i forgot how much i enjoy this.

thank you!

thats cool what you do! i love roses, we used to have some in our back yard. we had 4 rose bushes. one red, one pink, one yellow, and one purple. they were huge and prety much gave us baskets of roses almost all year as i can remember.

the flowers they gave us were beautifle but sadly they died of something were not sure what... but we think it was the heat from our blistering summers and the frost in the winter... we aren't guardners so yea we kinda let them go... now i regret it as they would have made a great example for sketching roses.

Same to me! At my old house we had about 107 roses, because my mom worked at
Builder Square(like Home Depo but that place no longer exist) Every day she would come home with a rose and plant it. It looked like a rose farm in our yard! It took up 68% of our yard and when they are all in full bloom, you could still smell them inside the house. Sadly the winter storm in 1996 we had a sevear frost that killed 87% of our roses, leaveing about 12 suvivors. Over time we collected more to make it happen. Even more Sadly, we moved...
So I don't live there anymore, were living in some Townhome apt but I diged up 6 roses for memory. There still alive and well

It's nice to know sombody who loves Gardening *blushes*
