Description Insired by [link] this picture of the sears tower.

Designers, this time, you will design an outfit based on a famous building. This is about inspiration and translation of inspiration into an acutal design. I'll assign you buildings.

The sears tower is a very modern buisness like building so i anted this to be a very geometric dress. It is a black and gold jersey silk that has been tuck stitched around the bodice and hips. The center front and sides open into sheer silk fabric that emulaated the sears tower silhouete. The jacket is the same back jersey silk with a gold lining, tuck stitching alon the sleeves and a center front hidden closure.

This is absolutely beautiful and I love everything about it. I wish I had something more constructive to say, but I really don't. Sorry.

I was a judge on Project Designer...so i made my remarks to Chris

ANYWHO! I LOVE your design! It's so sleek modern and elegant! The way you interpreted the building is in that perfect spot between literally and figurativly.

i've drawn inspiration from animals and things for a few designs i've come up with, but buildings is an entirely unique one, and you made it work beautifully. on an initial browsing through your galleries, i'd have to say this is easily one of my favorites thus far.

that would definitely be neat. i'm sure there are a lot of buildings, both traditional and more "modern," that could lend themselves to some pretty interesting dress designs...

I LOVE this dress. A lot of people here are saying its modern but it looks more futuristic which I love. The way you've incorporated the tower's silhouette is subtle enough so that it doesn't take over the whole dress and look mad. Personally I hope you win this challenge.

thanks! you wanna know something ironic? this may have turned out modern or futuristic... but all of the dresses i looked at to get ideas (mostly i have never ever made a straight dress so i needed to see what they looked like) were vintage ones, about the 1930's-50 ish.
