i could never understand how tinkerbell could fly with a shirt on. anyway ... what would you do with ~this~ one on textures, etc .... i really wanted bright bright bright pastel colors ... but the edges standout that way. yuck.

Good point. In any case, if you're gonna fly, might a as well be topless!

I think this one might not need a 'texture' like the other one. This one is more surreal and the viewer doesn't expect it to "blend in" as if it were a photo. In addition, you have certain things (the flower and the elbow) that go both in front and behind of each other, creating a nice 'blending' (perspective) of it's own. Things like that take away any jarring "this was just pasted on" feel and show that you actually thought about placement/blending. I mean, play with the blend modes I mentioned, but I'm not sure this calls for it - it ooks cool as-is... You could try the "burn" shading but it could make it too dark (maybe very subtle where things pass on top of each other). Also sometimes I render a texture behind everything (see Changeling) which makes it a bit unified. Depends upon if the pic calls for a texture though. I usually use 'canvas' texture to give it a painted feel...

"i just take photos of everything, so one has to come out, right?"

hmm ... that's not how ~my~ camera works ... overexposed, underexposed, head cut-off, etc etc. ~You~ know what you're doing behind a camera, otoh ... your photos do look great! Oh yah, and thanks for the nice comment!

you are welcome. my biggest problem with my camera is it being too damn blurry. THAT alone makes me want to beat it to death and run it over with my car

thanks for the nice words! i wanted to try a manip with really bright colors after seeing what you did with your glowing-neon tat in the scars piece ... but i thought i'd better go to a pastel palette given the flowery / fairy stuff ... i'm not totally happy with the result .. i miss being able to use shadows to hide the seams.
