"You damn bastards..." Varya cursed as she knelt beside the pile of bodies that were her comrades in the computer room of the Arabella. "You're going to pay for this..."

Outside in the hallway, the Escorians patrolled, looking for more of the crew to slaughter. They'd managed to miss Varya somehow, leaving the green-skinned Orion alive. Now, she was furious. With her green eyes narrowed and angry, she picked up a hand-laser. Standing slowly, she moved toward the door.

Varya moved into the corridor, laser ready. Listening carefully, she heard the big aliens moving about the corridor. One of them approached, and the Orion pressed herself against the wall. She knew this was the one who'd killed her friends. She would not let it escape.

The Escorian walked along the corridor of the Federation ship, weapon in hand. Another of the weak, tiny creatures would soon show its face, and he would destroy it as he had so many others. Ahead was a three-way break in the hall. Hitting a comms panel on his arm, the big alien spoke.

"Ahm. Sh'ya vaquli," he reported. "Nash kapala rham." His fingers tightened on the handle of his raygun.

Around the next corner waited Varya. She was completely invisible to the invader, and that's what she wanted. She set her laser for setting three... The kill setting.

Let's see how you scream, she thought, A little squeal, a little shout! Varya waited until the very last moment. That was when she would begin her covert strike back against the invaders.

Invaders who would feel the revenge of her green animal blood.
