Very very nice. I love 'in-motion' images such as this for their surreal effect. This was taken at just the right moment.

I feel like she represents the elements... earth, wind, fire (not so much water) Looks like she could've been a greek god-

Truly elegant image! The flow and dynamism are strong yet they take away nothing from the elegance... great balance between those elements!

Taurina In reply to lawrencew [2006-03-12 23:42:56 +0000 UTC]

nice. You have a wonderful gallery. You know what would i do with all those ballerinas? i would make one of them dance in a completely dark room, carefully, i would leave the aperture for at least 15 seconds open and flashing a light at her every two seconds, so the result would be the same ballerina over and over again in different posittions, i know it can be done with photoshop, but i love to experiment with light and darkness with the camera, betetr than computer.

angels0ul In reply to Taurina [2006-03-16 05:17:37 +0000 UTC]

lol i have before...it's like dancing with your eyes closed. my ballet teacher made me do it so i could get a better sense of balance and a feel for the music.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Taurina In reply to angels0ul [2006-03-16 05:23:33 +0000 UTC]

Agh! i remember something like that, i used to be in ballet too but i was really young. Somehow after i quit i started expanding everywhere like the universe and couldn't get my figure back ever again....

Ballet teachers can be really mean sometimes, but that is a great way to get balance.

angels0ul In reply to Taurina [2006-03-15 07:06:40 +0000 UTC]

lol dancing in the dark really sucks for balance and spacing hehe and orientation...

Why! are you actually trying??

angels0ul [2006-03-11 12:10:14 +0000 UTC]

magical..just like the ballet.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lawrencew In reply to angels0ul [2006-03-11 23:40:41 +0000 UTC]

Ta for that.. we did our research.. and the most salient point we found that Fokine made was that it was the expressiveness of the hands as part of the totality of dance that was important to him in this work..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

angels0ul In reply to lawrencew [2006-03-12 02:01:52 +0000 UTC]

That reminds me of something an old dancer friend said "my teacher hit us everywhere with the stick, just hard enough so we'd feel it...but never did she hit our hands"

...ahh, for the good old days.... "... should be more of it" he mutters as he staggers off ( stage left) on his walking stick.

angels0ul In reply to lawrencew [2006-03-15 07:05:05 +0000 UTC]

haha i agree..sort of! Alot of dancers don't have the same respect and discipline for dance.
