Happy Birthday, Brittany!I hope you like ittt : D
Yeah so, it was only a matter of time before I drew some sweet Na'vi business. Neytiri's so tank lol.
Augh I just realized I forgot her shiny face-dots. X0
I might add them in later.
Maybe.
This took me roughly 7 hours to draw, which I would be EXTREMELY PROUD of except for the fact that it had to be done that fast since it's a present for my friend's birthday which happens to be tomorrow.
Can you tell I got lazy at the neck/jewelry/shoulders? XD
I'm sure she won't care though, she loves Avatar. : )
This piece was completely side-traced meaning I looked at an original picture and drew what I saw.
I DO NOT take any credit for the compostion and design because I'm not James Cameron...
But we're both Canadian! : D

I think it's cool (whether you meant to do this or not) how you drew her hair without the braids--personally, I thought she looked better that way!
Also, really nice work on her left eye. I think the other eye would look better if you added a little more light in the bottom left corner.

This was my first real practice with realism, so I'm not as good just yet.
But I'll definitely try to improve and post more. ^^
The picture that I used for reference was pretty blurry so it seemed like she didn't have her braids in.
I kind of like it better that way too.
And yeah, I agree with your comment on the eye. I was a little rushed because this was a birthday present for my friend. If I had a bit more time I probably could have spruced up a few things. ><

Whoa, that was your first time at realism? Then you're already on a better track than I was when I first started! All of my earlier drawings (which thankfully I didn't post here) weren't NEARLY as good as your drawing of Neytiri.
I can't wait to see what you can do with more time and practice (...and a high-resolution photo)!
