Description I have always loved the novel "Fire Bringer", yet when I originally read it I could not draw deer. Now that I have learnt how to draw deer better I began reading the Book again and have fell in love with my drawn characters.
Rannoch, being the hero has perfect colouring while Bankfoot is supposed to look fat had have a duller colouring. Rannoch has a noble and reflecting look while Bankfoot is a happy go-lucky child whom looks up to his mature friend.
This is simple pencil, not very good but I just wanted to share my pictures of other fans of the under appreciated novel.

Awe!
They could have jumped out of Disney! (although I would hope disney wouldn't touch this classic)

Cute. Though I have to say, their faces are a bit rabbit-like. Hehe..don't kill the critic...
I love this book! Do you know if there is a Fire Bringer fan club? I think I'll start one.

Not at all; I agree, that's why I did a second version of the fawns to make them more deer-like.

Yes there is a Fire Bringer fan club! Keep looking and you'll find it!

I've read the book 'Fire Bringer' and I loved that book. It was really sad at the end how practically every character you read in the book dies. As you find how and know the personality of the main characters so much =[

I like your picture it's really well done. Awesome as =]

Yes, that's what I found frustrating. As soon as you learned to like a character and got to know them, they died!... grrr

Your picture looks great and I agree the book is like unheard of.. I told my friend it was an awesome book and all she had to say was that it had talking animals in it therefore it must be stupid. Personally I don't consider them "talking animals" unless they're able to talk to people. I've also read somewhere that books like this where the animals can talk to eachother is just a metaphore for human life and it does make sense if you think about the themes in the books like betrayal. ...end rant..

Thankyou!

Well animals can communicate with each other, that's a known fact. I don't know how people can think books like that are stupid. When I first read this book I had to do a review to my class, when I said you had to "think like a deer" they all laughed at me.
It's a wonderful book and some people just need to open their minds and give animals a little more credit in life. But don't get me started on animal rights... I could go on.

You’re right the book is about betrayal, but I also think it reflects our lives in the fact that like us the deer could not understand any other creature until they opened their minds.

Aw, what cuties. You've done them justice. The novel IS unappreciated, but I think it deserves as much attention as Series of Unfortunate Events or maybe Artemis Fowl...
