You got the 50mm f1.8, you'll love it.

Great shot, I really like it.

Yeah, I picked it up a few months ago but I have not really had the chance to use it a whole lot.

It is one thing to know that a fixed lens is better and faster, but it quite another to force yourself to put down the zoom, because the zoom lets you be lazy.

I pulled it out for this because I had need of the larger aperature because smoke is always very dark and it becomes hard to freeze the motion with the other lens I was using. I do like this lens though, it is very cheap but for the price is a a very good tool.

Yeah, a fixed lens will make you work harder. My personnal best shot was taken with my 50 f1.8 and I have yet to repeat the exploit. I definitly should use it more.

Yeah, that is your best in my opinion. It was also the first thing of yours I saw, if I remember correctly.

My favorite image of mine is [link] which in true form has little attention on this site compared to some of my other stuff. But then again the web version does not really do the print any justice, and that is a large part of why I like it.

Nice.

I love the way you do these smoke pictures (you should show me how sometime).

There seems to be a white speck on the right side, did you mean to do that?

No, and I didn't even notice it will all the dust on my screen, I will have to go clone that out now. Thanks for the prod.

As for the smoke pictures, all you have to do is remind me when I am there this summer or something, it is not really all that hard. You just have to have a black background, some backlighting, and some incense.

Oh yeah, and patience.

It looks better with out the spot now. (What's a "prod"?)

OK, I'll make sure to remind you. You also need to show me some more programs on the computer that you've been using.
