I don't know what it was that caught my eye on this piece, but it spoke to me when it came across my preview screen. Something in its... well, its not any 1 thing about the piece, but rather how it as a whole has this texture to it that your eyes can reach out and "touch", feel the way it plays with itself, but at the same time takes itself entirely seriously. You should be really proud of what you have accomplished here, cause, in just my armature opinion? You have a piece here worthy of hanging in a gallery. It very s me of Amadeus.

I can't do anything else but thank you for your time and your thoughts. Personally, I wouldn't have thought that this piece could deserve such attention -first of all, it's a very old piece. I made it when I was merely trying to figure out how acrylics work, and I still was in that phase of my adolescence when the word "Texture Filter" can be a substitute to "Gift of the Gods".

But still, thank you for reminding me that I made that. When we grow a little older and make more images, old works can be underrated by their own creators. Instead, despite I don't think this piece deserves to be in a gallery (that's so kind of you ) I think that I should consider better my older pieces.

About Amadeus, heh! I've never watched the film, but I know what you're talking about. Just think this: XVIII century is still the base of my aesthethic. For me, nothing is cooler than a man in a knight's armor, but seriously- NOTHING is hotter than a man in a black venetian costume. Tell me what you think about it!

Also, thanks again

Our oldest works have this way of making us sheepish about our talents. In the one hand you want people to see where you are now, but in the other it shows people where you came from and just how much talent you had to begin with. As a writer I feel the same way about a lot of the older pieces I have written over the years, but people who know me now, and have read my new and old pieces, often enjoy them both.

It's pretty hard not to find stuff from the XVIII century . the city which I live in has several major world class museums with some truly beautiful 18th Century Napoleonic pieces; from hand drawn maps to suits of armor which defy the mind as to the number of small little details crafted in to them. Some of their turn of the 18th, almost start of the 19th century pieces were on loan from the Louvre and the craftsmanship is just to die for. One in particular is a tapestry that has gold braiding and hand painted silk pieces woven in, I mean just stellar stuff!

You don't need to thank me, you deserve at least half of the credit! LoL - but I will definatly be hinting this Christmas that someone get me a print of some of your stuff to hang on my wall at home . And I will definatly be keeping a close eye on your career as the years go on, so let me thank you now. Truly a tremendous job! ^_^

I actually read this at 1:00 in the morning yesterday, and your comment kept me awaken for at least half an hour. It's something very important for everyone to have some encouragement from people, even more from "strangers", whose compliments can often be more gratuitous than those of people who live next to us.

I'm incredibly glad to have found a supportive friend like you, and your enthusiasm, like that of some of my internet friends, keeps me from hiding my stuff in an archive. That said, feedback is something precious in a social network environment, where everything seems to have a "price": a like for a like, a comment for some recognition, etc, etc. You know, I have a certain numbers of followers here (sometimes I feel they are just a little bunch of people, sometimes I feel like they're an enormous crowd), but only  20/30 of them take the time to be "active". I know it's normal, but I feel like it's a waste of space: if you don't even fave or comment what I make, why do you even follow me? Are you all shy like little leverets? That's too cute to be true.

And that means a lot. I spend a lot of time making the stuff you see and you like or dislike. Thank you sincerely for the time you put into giving me feedback.

I know this is not related to XVIII century stuff at all... it's not even a reply, but I wanted to say it. Geez, I can be so sugarcoated sometimes!

Oh, and about my future works, I'm struggling to make a picture book for adults. There won't be pinups or extremely gory things, but still I'd never read it to my children, if I actually had children. I hope to publish some development sketches soon!

I don't know if people will appreciate my munchkins or not, and this can be a little discouraging sometimes. We'll know when times come!

Yeah, projects can be very difficult to upkeep if you don't have the kind of emotional support to found a steady base on, that you see a lot of self-help guru's talk about. Really annoying to have to think about them, but they stole the concept from basic psychology 101, so it all still applies and is valid. But no matter how discouraged you feel remember: there are still other artists and such who adore your work and would love to see more. An artist should never "retire" until the day their bristles have no more bristles, and their words no longer can be strung together to make beautiful poetry.

I think you are wrong though, about having any 18th century involvement in your art - I could very much imagine this little guy talking in a cheesy Napoleonic accent. And I am sure he'd collect minions who behave the same way.  ^_^

Give yourself more credit, your fans obviously think you are worth it, just don't let it get to your head just yet. Enjoy your fandom, you have earned it with your beautiful and inspired artwork.

I wonder what could be a munchkin's minion.

Now that I think about it, every powerful munchkin in my story has a tall sidekick.
And uops, there's actually a munchkin heavily inspired on Napoleon. You just have to search, but that bob styled black hair is easy to recognize.

Thank you! Although this is not a plague Doctor's mask, the atmosphere is pretty dark, and I had some fun while painting it!

kinda mix between Phantom of the Opera and a Plague Doctor mask in my point of view

Still looks pretty cool, and my goodness you're so good at traditional painting

All the characters are amazing, but this is my favourite! I love his tiny hands, very funny, and his glance behind that mask... WONDERFUL! I love it, I can stop looking at him, hehehe.

Hey, and the choice of colors is amazing too

Oh, thank you! Actually, he looked a bit dull on his original white blackground, so I'm very happy about how this character came out when I added this dark vintage background. I think it also reinforces the shading

I agree, the background is very interesting with these colors and that texture. I know I said it before but... I LOVE his eyes, hahaha. He has something mysterious and very funny on them, he is a little funny guy

Owww, I'm glad you think that I don't think he's this funny, but I'm really enjoying your point of view  I mean, I love to blend creepy and funny in my works!
