Wow really cute! I wuv quail, (hence my name) and he's adorable. Actually though, thats not a Bobwhite. It's really either a Californian quail or a Gambel's quail. Still though, great drawing!

it was kind of a textured parchment stuff, from a long time ago, I don't have any now.. Thanks!

it was the stuff I sold or people asked for so I gave it away...but later I wised up, and at least took pictures of my stuff, like some of the stuff I gave to my Japanese friends when they went home, I made photocopies 1st..

Your attention to detail is incredible. Your line work is rather amazing as well, you've captured a full range of value in your Quail's feathers. The texture is interesting, there's a nice contrast between the 'fluffiness' of the feathers to the 'dryness' of the wood. The paper choice of off-white also adds a lot of interest (and the texture of the paper too).
