I don’t even like this one, but i’m busy with commissions (and sleeping) and i’m upload dope sick, so… Short silent comics for ARNAL contest i did couple of months ago.

In this case a picture really is worth a thousand words (if not more!). Without the characters uttering a single word, with such a smart, deceivingly simple, composition and a soft colour pallete you were able to convey so many emotions, feeling and intentions. Although you use such soft colours, had you used them any differently, considering the concept and the key elements you selected to highlight, the piece as a whole could very easily be perceived as heavy-hearted and dark. When newly revived soul notices the medallion hanging from the neck of one of the necromancers, you see how it becomes intrigued by the piece of jewelry. A memory or simply curiousness leads it to remove it from her and open it. Then, with no facial features to speak of, with nothing but bare bone you can so clearly see how the picture inside causes a deep impact within him. Acknowledgment, disbelief, sorrow, yearning. A yearning so great that it recklessly ignores the aggregate of roots and vines that both forms and binds it, keeping its soul in realm of the living, and lunges at the distant image of the life death took from it, only to unwittingly return to its embrace when its makeshift body gives out.
In these last panels you truly show how masterful you are.
I'm sorry for the super mega comment! I was stuck writing an essay all day and most of the night and the overly analytic nook in my brain hasn't returned to normal yet. And this probably ruined the whole mood of the comment. My avy probably doen't help either.... Sorry
