Description FIN!
I put a background there. I can't belive i did it. XD By the way here is the full coloured Body without the Background: [link]

This is my entry for *Zerna s contest [link]
It's about design new outfits for her OCs. I had choosen spindle to dress up and well now put him in creepy nebulous woods. VOOODOOO like.
I also added the tattoo at his upper arm because i realised i forgot it after uploading this pic the first time. Moreover i failed the fogg clouds at the upper right side. Took the wrong Ink liner at first that's why two of 'em are black and not grey. Sorry.

Dear *Zerna I hope you like it. Spindle was fun to draw

YAY!
I'm so glad you like it
I though we'd meet some problems because my drawing style is a little toooo~ detailed.

You said in the contest description you'd prefer "an outfit with only sparsely details" in case you'd like to draw it in IZ style and that becomes difficult with to much details.
Did i overdo with the details here?

Zerna In reply to Lennylein [2011-09-13 04:42:16 +0000 UTC]

Might be for IZ style, bu it still looks great. I don't draw Spindle in IZ style too often anyway, no worries.

...is it sad that I looked at the fog and thought it was foam/ bubbles? ;_;
OK, serious now |D

Loving the head dress and skull spear he's got there, and the tats are awesome <3
My only complaint would be the fog looks a little like foam
But that's just me Xd
Other than that, wonderful job

I'm not sure if I'll have time to color it. I'll try to, at least, give it the base colors.

Lennylein In reply to Tybay [2011-09-07 22:05:54 +0000 UTC]

yeah, that would be cool
alterall i guess it's easier for you as a digital artist finding the correct skin tone.
I had some problems with it not a single one of my markers even begins to compare with spindles skin colour QwQ

Tybay In reply to Lennylein [2011-09-07 22:11:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the good thing about digital coloring is that you can pick whatever color you like exactly as it is. But still, your traditional coloring deserves more credit than anything digitally done

Lennylein In reply to Tybay [2011-09-07 22:25:12 +0000 UTC]

so ture
traditional work seems to take more time than digital. A brush with a mouse or a tablet is maybe faster done than a 14 houres colour of a Din A4 picture with traditional media.
Acutally i must not judge these things because i have no experience with digital artwork. OS i can't jugde what is easier. Or what do you think?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tybay In reply to Lennylein [2011-09-07 22:33:36 +0000 UTC]

I'll always give more value to a traditional picture. It's easy to emulate any kind of traditional media with any program for digital coloring, and everyone can use it (if I can use it, that's enough proof XD I can't even hold a color pencil or a marker)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lennylein In reply to Tybay [2011-09-07 22:49:41 +0000 UTC]

thats very nice from you.
uhh~ i'm a totally fool with any digital programm I even got problems with simply writing with my tablet pen. >___< I Also own the newst photoshop but have NO single idea who to use it T^T. Even tutorials don't help me... i'm a moron when it comes to digital art.

i think everyone has to be in practice with his favourite media. We have to keep our hands in practise ;D
Everyone can learn new things It's just... sometimes you need a good teacher to learn the ropes XD C:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tybay In reply to Lennylein [2011-09-07 23:03:20 +0000 UTC]

I do livestrams every once in a while coloring in Photoshop. You can ask me whatever you want about how ot use it if you have the chance to catch one
I'm a moron when it comes to traditional art XD I never know which materials should I use, how to use them, I know nothing about it. I can barely color with color pencils and watercolors (and I suck >___<)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lennylein In reply to Tybay [2011-09-08 16:55:10 +0000 UTC]

OH REALLY?! you'd do that?
That'd be so GREAT!
maybe i have a little change to learn something with a good teacher
okay, then here's my frist question: Let's say i've scanned a pencilscetch and now i want to paint over the lines with Photophop and give it a flat colour. I don't know how to do that or even how to work with the plains in PS. @___@

daw~ nah no one is a moron with traditional media. it's kinda quick to learn ;D If there are any questions don't wait to ask me. Maybe i could help you dealing with traditonal media if you want to. I'd love to do so
I dare to say i got some experience with almost every type of traditional media. (aquarelle, acrylc paint on canvas or paper, cayons, charcoal, drawing ink/sepia and markers or course)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tybay In reply to Lennylein [2011-09-08 20:28:14 +0000 UTC]

For the flat colors, I only turn the scanned picture (background) into a layer and place it in multiply mode above all the other layers I want to use. Then, in a new layer below that one, I just color inside the lines with the brush tool.
(Do you have skype? I think it'll be easier to explain it while you see me working on a pic)

And of course I'll ask you I'm probably going to start practising using watercolors and I might need some tips with it ^^
