It's January, and the water is ice cold. Every winter, up to 80 swans gather from around the area to Barcovan Beach on Lake Ontario in Ontario, Canada. Here with a natural wind break, they are able to break through some of the ice to obtain open areas of water. Locals feed the Mute Swans here corn and other goodies, helping them get through the winter.
