So gorgeous! Thingol is seldom painted with Aranruth. The details on his robe and the sword are exquisite. Love this style.

I appreciate the comment, but for true connoisseur of traditional oriental-style outfit such incoherent comparison would never occur.Thank you.

I for sure know virtually nothing of true japanese traditional wear (but for what general culture can provide).
But this made me think of that one.
The shape of the shoulder pieces perhaps? Not to mention the way the outfit is closed on the chest (which would oriental-ish to any uneducated eyes)

I've always loved Tolkien's elves (especially the Silmarillion elves), but you really have your own style with them that shows them off in a unique light. You're not mimicking the style of the films; these are your Tolkien elves, and they're beautiful.
The detail, as always, is just mind-bending. My goodness, though, that sword is the best part. I could stare at the hilt forever. XD

I appreciate your comment a lot. As to the "mimicking the style of the films"....so far we do not have any visual paragon for most of the Silmarillion characters,do we?....But jokes apart-that is definitely not my cup of tea.I value my own imagination and artistic ability to create what I want. Multiplying someone's ready images for the sake of popularity is beyond true artistic dignity.Books are the main source of inspiration for me when it comes to "fanart". Hopefully no one will ever dare to make a "movie for the masses" out of timeless Silmarillion....Anyway,the good thing is that I am not the only artist with such attitude. So,to make a long story short-there will be some more "my very own vision"elven portraits and oriental aesthetics.Thank you.

I honestly love the movie trilogy, but my favourite Lord of the Rings art has always been of the characters as the artist imagined them from the books themselves. As you said, there is more of the artist's own imagination in those, the artist's own image of who the characters are.
You're very welcome.  You're an incredibly talented artist, and I'll be looking forward to seeing your next elves.
