By his pointed ears it is obvious that he is(actually was) an elf. I did not have anyone particular in mind-just a slaughtered elf......Some acknowledged elves are to come soon.......Elven folk here:link

My very first thought was: Ecthelion! He drowned in a fountain, died alongside Gothmog whom he had slaughtered. If fits him perfectly
