Description
The brave Monster Hunter, Leony, was quite the novice when she fought her first Rathian. Unfortunately, she encountered a Rathalos by accident too... apparently it was mating season... she lost a wing and her other was damaged badly too
. She didn't give up on this as she found monster hunting a very engaging job for her, particularly given her love for meals made from certain monsters' meat...Yes, that's a Barioth armor for blademaster and that's an Icicle Blade
, those are actually my favorite in monster hunter. As an inside joke, she had to hunt 1 extra Barioth just to get the parts for the torso XDonto the art notes?

but nice nonetheless... I drew this piece a while back and decided after inking that I could give it some color for practice. Full piece was made via Sai and nothing else. I enjoyed the colors but took me a long time to finish, that's for sure.
This piece doesn't implement new techniques I have learned during vacations... soooo.... yeah, that's why I consider this old. The new techniques would actually make it look better but to be honest, I didn't feel like redrawing it since I had already created a color base before my vacations XD

I'm just adding lore to this alternate version of the story...
If you remember the urgent mission where you fight a Rathian and a Rathalos, it says it's mating season, which brings up the fact there's a couple and you just dropped into the battlefield to hunt them down. So there you go, a logical explanation

Dat armor must've been a pain to draw, huh? I know I be drawin' some armor and it ain't going easy, I can tell youse dat. Maybe I should've gone with the nargacuga armor. x_x;
A good job, though. Even though the blade for some reason looks like it has electricity surging through it. That would be a nasty dual element to have. lol
Just wait til' the Grank Armor. Now that be a snazzy piece of work.
Also, Icicle Blade? What weapon class be that?

hard to draw, yes, very much so. I tried to add some "damage" to the blade but clearly it didn't work as nicely as I wanted it to XP
the Icicle Blade is made from Barioth parts and is elemental ice due to the origin of the beast... being an ice saber kitty-dragon thingie... is adorable >.> and deadly... I love great swords and I make them look so easy to wield XD. They are actually one of the heaviest weapons in the game

Ah, figured that. I meant was it an actual weapon in the game. Had to look it up and found out it was an actual greatsword. MHTri didn't have many ice weapons, so ultimate increased the numbers a little. ...unfortunately, I wish the ice weapons were better. 8(
Greatswords definitely are boss and I need to make more. But I end'd up going down the dual swords and hammer path. Status hammers anyway. 8X

I like dual swords too, not gonna lie... so in order to keep me using my favorites, I regularly set them on different paths. my dual swords are fire, my great sword is ice, my hammer is electric...
then I vary those as well, giving me a variety of weapons to choose from whenever I rank up and such

I actually end'd up stickin' wit DSes until I collected all the maxed out versions of each DS path. Other peeps I knew kept laughin' at me 'cause my guild card's missions graphic only had a bar for DSes. I blame laziness.Β
After collecting them all (screw gourmet vouchers..), I tried to do the same with GSes and LSes... but laziness kick'd in and I end'd up messin' with hammers. And then everything change'd when the hammer nation attack'd...

I did watchΒ a friend play for about half an hour, 45 minutes, but I didn't seem him actually make anything. It sounds like something similar in other games I've played, but those didn't involve hunting down monsters & using the parts.

is because you just take the parts to the smithy so he makes the stuff for you. Really the challenge is finding the parts but the battles and gathering remains interesting if you get in the game XD

I've never played monster hunter before, but this is awesome. The weapon too. You can get stuff to make these items in the game?

the armors and weapons are made by collecting materials to make them. Basically you have presets of weapons and armors already there. The real hard part is to get all the materials and it takes a long long time... but is totally worth it XD

I mean, don't get me wrong this is hella impressive and beyond my abilities, but her boobs are drawing my eyes because I keep thinking those black things are weapons of some sort.

they are not XD, can't blame you, the things are actually part of the spikes of a barioth. they hold the chestpiece part but in here, it cannot apply due to the sheer size

Very nice. I love the detail on her armor and weapons. I've never played Monster Hunter, but it looks like you really captured the style. Leony looks like she is very pleased with herself. And with a huge sword like that, how could she not be.
