Hey guys, some of you asked me to post more of work I've done for Infinity Wars, so here we go, with a card for Verrore.Ho boy, I am not sure they could control such entity but well seems OK for them so far.
Also, I revived this last months my facebook page and share over more wip or sketches, previews etc....

I've never done any animation, so I'm really curious, for thing like the wings, do you draw it frame by frame, or use transformation to change the shape for each frame? The movement of the body looks like it was done by transformation. What about the wisps of smoke and light? Do you have to draw it for each frame?

You may be not an animator, but you have a great eye for it.
For this card, I indeed use the transformation or puppet tool over after effect. You could check on my DA profile or my Behance (link at the bottom of this text box) some other cards I've done where I use frame by frame animation as well.
Light, smoke, etc... are drawn then animated over aftereffect. I rarely use particles as they are difficult to set up for me, and I spend less time to draw directly the effect.

Great work, both the painting and the effects blend so good and give an eye candy result.
Is there any good tutorial you could suggest on after effects (for that kind of animated pics)? I would like to try something similar in the future but have never tried anything else than photoshop. Or could you make a tutorial? I'd love to see the way you work ^^

For AfterEffect, if you know the basics you could what you want, don't try advanced tutorials before get these basic in place or it will become a living hell. Send me a message over fb if you want more info, I will try to explain. The note system of da is a pain for me.
