La famille noble de Broc s’éteint en 1340, leur résidence revint aux seigneurs de Montsalvens dès le XIVe siècle. En 1555 la châtellenie est incorporée dans le canton de Fribourg puis intégrée au bailliage de Gruyères. Le château se trouve à côté d’un pont en dos d’âne qui surplombe la Sarine, construit en 1580 et refait aux 18e et 19e siècle.

The Château d'En-Bas at the entrance to Broc in the canton of Fribourg (Switzerland) is a fortified house of the lords of Broc built in the 12th century. The noble family of Broc died out in 1340, their residence returned to the lords of Montsalvens in the 14th century. In 1555 the castellany was incorporated into the canton of Fribourg then integrated into the bailiwick of Gruyères. The castle is located next to a humpback bridge overlooking the Sarine, built in 1580 and rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries.
