What a fantastic shot! Did you digitally alter it? The feathers and tree look almost painted. Love this!

Thanks. This was shot in extremely low light. I followed this Owl for close to three quarters of an hour as it hunted along a logging road in the evening and got this shot at the end of the chase. That effect is really an unwanted side effect of the low light and the post processing to sharpen and reduce the noise.

Wow, you manage to catch owls in the strangest positions. Love the "Oh crap, I've been caught!" look on that owl's face.

Despite my presence the owl is still hunting. The expression is concentration on something it heard moving in the grass I expect.
