Description This set of photographs is a visual representation of the way I have learned to act since I was a small child. Growing up I was seen as an easy target because of my emotional disposition. I quickly learned to build walls around myself to keep from getting hurt. I constructed a tent out of sheets, books, and safety pins. When my brother and I were younger we spent hours building tents out of similar materials just so we could hide away and play in secret. I wanted to revisit this period in my childhood and use the tent as a metaphor for what I learned as a girl and what I have carried into my adulthood.
