Update: I had some free time today so I could continue my painting. Here's where I am at the moment.I changed the position of the legs, because I realized that I put them into an impossible posture at first... Well, here's the point where I always get stucked... This is the point where I always feel that something is missing (Except the tail...). I think, it is the fur. I can't paint fur Dear professional or advanced realistic Equine aΕ±Artists of Deviant Art, could you PLEASE help me with some tips, hints, technique/brush (etc.) suggestions, or anything I could do to make this horse look more realistic? I would be very grateful, any kind of help is appreciated, just please leave it in a comment under this WIP or note me.Thank you very much!!

After a long-long break...And lots of happenings...I'm here again...This time I decided to finish an old, unfinished digital painting which I started about a year ago.

I use a reference photo: [link] , however, only for the shading and the head.I changed the posture of the horse, not because I did not like it,but because I have plans with this painting.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended and WACOM Bamboo A6 tablet is used.

I don't know where it will end up,we will see...XD It's not easy to get used to painting after such a long break, but I am trying... Hopefully it is worth the try

Please do not copy or use this WIP without my written permission!

Thank you for every favourites and comments!

I don't think you need to paint fur on this - but really all it is is just finer detail. I like it all smooth and glossy!

The only things that look maybe a little unfinished(other than the tail lol) Is it looks like you need to clean up the edges - erase a finer line so it is crisp and clear around the edges like the head and neck? The other thing that looks a little unfinished is the area around the top of the front leg? The elbow and upper forarm looks like it needs more highlighing and shadow and the top of the forearm needs a bit more highlighting? A touch more detail on the legs to match the crisp and clean head would make some difference too I think to your eyes to make it look more finished. I wouldn't put any more detail on the body at all, just clean up the edges and I think you will be happy.

It looks amazing so far!

Aww,thank you very much!! Being one of my biggest artist ideals, you cannot imagine how much this comment and favourite from you meant to me...Telling the truth, there were mostly self-confidence problems behind my long break from painting and drawing...But now I can feel the spark which helps me to continue... I hope I won't cause disappointment with my drawing...Thank you again!
