Description It has been awhile since I drew anything, so of course my fixation on mermaids kicked into gear.

This is Nerka the guardian water nymph of the delicious Oncorhynchus nerka sockeye salmon. I like to think that migrating animals have mystical shepherds guiding them to safe haven.

Programs used: Sketchbook Pro, Pixelmator, Corel Painter X and CS5.

Wonderful work, love the concept of the mer migrating with the salmon, the detail of her body, webbed fingers and shinies - definite favorite!
