Oh wow. This would be able to explain where all his hatred came from. Truly a twist! And by the way, you did a great job with all the shading and the scenery! It looks like it came from a storybook.

I like this, that his hatred of humans does not come out of nothing but has an actual reason. If you've seen the live action Jungle Book, *spoilers* Khan's blindness was caused by Mowgli's father and he also warned the animals that Mowgli would burn the forest, which he totally did. *end of spoilers* That bit of exposition humanized what was a flat villain in the cartoon version. This artwork makes him sympathetic and even an anti-hero. I feel sorry for him

Nuuuu The poor cub! But why would the humans just leave the bodies there instead of using the fur and meat? (I know its for the sake of the artwork I just had a random thought)

Oh, it was one of my favourite books when I was a kid. I never thought of Shere Knah from this point of view. Giving the villain some reason to be bad, like revenge, is always interesting.
Also you've got great skills, keep it up!

Awww... That's such a sad twist on things. Poor Shere Khan...
Gotta say that the lighting is excellent on this peace, and really sets the mood for the piece. Presumably, with the supposed 'heroes' in the light within the background, while Shere Khan stands in the darker part of the picture and taking the foreground, mourning the loss of his family.
And the perspective is also very good as well! I love how the trees came out! Wonderful job on this piece~! <3
