Very cute pic series!
lthough a visible change from the game, to manga, was that that Alex and Snadra's true form was not Alexander, but Alexandra.
If confronted with with Pearl near the end of storyline, Alex even notes to Pearl they "so, shall we we return to our true our true forms, then? ", with Pearl becoming Lady Blackpearl (who was her original personality), and Alex becoming Sandra (showing Sandra is the true form of Alex/Sandra, and even their names together form the name "Alex(s)andra", and both seemingly confront themselves as knights, as well as due it being her first personality, from Sandra's poiint of view, Lady Black Pearl is Pearl's true self.)
It's depatable why this was changed in the manga - one possibility is that having an explicedly lesbian character in a manga targeted to fairly young viewers in late 90s/early 00s was seen as not aproivate in time, and maybe was even seen as not aproivate, and might have been even mandated by the publisher (who had more power then). Another possibility, is that the author didn't want Alex/Sandra to come of as a psycho lesbian .

It's been a while for me since I read the Manga. I only remember that Toto just figured out the link between Alex (the germ merchant?) and Sandra (gem thief)
However, I always had a thing for gems and bright colours. I really wished they had done more with the Jumi. Then again we nowadays have the series 'Steven Universe' which also picked on people having gems on their bodies. It's definitely not the same but there is a similarity to it.
I feel like Legend of Mana is very much underrated. I liked the Manga alot. The characters were not flawless, very much alive. I can't speak for the game as I have never played it. I wanted to, but it wasn't easy to obtain back then. Secret of Mana was easier to get and yea, it wasn't the same at all...

Yup, Steven Universe is similar to the Jumi story, up to a "Pearl", being a main characters, and an important character having two identies, like Alex and Sandra, Pearl and Lady Black Pearl.
I also agree Legend of Mana (game and manga) is very underrated, but yeah, it isn't easy to find .

Oh wow. I've only ever played Legend of Mana, I had no idea it had a deeper story surrounding it or a manga. I thought it was a Swedish game. Unless it is Swedish manga? I must now investigate. Thank you for introducing me to a new fandom. XD

Pearl isn't a princess. She's Elazul's guardian. I've played the game and read the manga! X3 And it is fluorite. I carry around lapis lazuli around in my pocket. It's so beautiful!
I have a jumi OC named Vade'l. She's a jumi of yellow topaz.
