Description I forged a thick 6 ga. copper wire into tongs. I flattened the ends and riveted them with brass escutcheon pins to the spade-shaped sheets, which were die-formed with a hydraulic press and sawed out.

Thank you! After much bending of them, they did! You just have to bend them back and forth repeatedly for them to stiffen up.
