I bet most of you can guess what movie inspired this that recently came out. If someone does they get a cookie. XD

The Hawkai are a sentient species of bird descended from Hawks. It is not known if their intelligence and sentience status is the result of natural evolution or the genetic meddling of humans as the Hawkai arose during the waning days of the human species. All that is known is the result. The Hawkai are a social and inquisitive species. Being creatures of flight they have little int he way of boarders or individual nations and as such tend to operate as a whole. With the comprehension of ancient human technologies gained through the assistance of surviving human made AIs which they often call "oricals" they have learned to rebuild much of what humanity had. As such their level of technology is on par with what humans had at the end of their rule. This said old traditions still remain. Hawkai still make their homes in tries. Usually hollowing out a section though leaving the living core of the tree intact. Hawkai are still however gaining a full grasp on the many concepts and sciences left behind by humanity though they are learning at a far faster rate. It is not uncommon for official groups to be sent out to explore cities to recover data caches and any technology that can be carried home. The human cities are off limits though to most as there are still instances of working human machines some of which after centuries of neglect are hostile towards any life form.

"Come on Gelder. Lets get going alright! I wanna go check out the ancient city." Jerren said looking back at his black, gray, and white feathered friend.

"Not this again. You know we're not supposed to. The ancient steel city is off limits! What if we get caught?" Gelder asked looking around.

"Oh where's your sense of adventure. What if we discover something really useful to the colony? Wouldn't that make the Elders and the Orical happy?" Jerren tried to reason as he turned around crinkling.

"What are we gonna find there? Besides an ancient metal beast that might wanna use us as target practice." Gelder said narrowing his eyes.

"Your just being a big scarredy. Just a big old hatchling." Jerren teased hoping to get the response he wanted from him.

"Yeah that's big coming from the bird in the diaper." Gelder tried to retort.

"So what does it say that the diapered bird is willing to go out and do something brave and your not?" Jerren smirked.

"Fine! But just for an hour. And if you need a change we fly home. Deal?" Gelder sighed extending a wing.

"Deal!" Jerren grinned and slapped Gelder's wing with his own and then spread his. "Now lets get going!"
