Hehe oh John Wayne is unfortunately more of a poor representative of the cowboy life than a good one... But, he does ok I suppose. The cowboy world is far more beautiful, peaceful, respectful, humble than any hollywood show can ever capture.

i know, i never took it at face value because i was on the indians side anyways XD but i really do vibe with the ethos of living with the land, side by side with your steed...so much more than a "ride" like a car... horses can be best friends for life... they are so full of personality and strength.
i didnt mean any disrespect by the john wayne comment...guess that sounded very common of me lol

Haha no worries about John Wayne, he is a "cowboy" icon after all.
Yes, a horse becomes a reflection of a persons soul if the relationship if good and the person learns to understand and respect and feel the horse. There are no other animals quite like them, we have a beautiful coexistence when we are able to let go of our darker human habits. Horses can teach people a lot about loving themselves and loving others, and forgiving

i have had the pleasure of meeting horses properly, through their owner...
they are unbelievably like humans in their mindsets. its a horrible shame a lot of horses in the uk belong to scumbags and become dangerous.
the horses i met were owned by a kind old lady and were good to know. i cleaned out their stables quite often as a teenager.... they can be very big and intimidating creatures as well, even when they are just being friendly there can be an element of fear of getting trampled in a stable with a horse....that said, i have always been a little put off with horses, as i nearly got tramed by one as a kid when i saved a dog from its field...dumb dog wanted to play with the horse but the horse didnt understand and just got real scared and trying to trample the dog.
they are amazingly deep once you get to know them though
